The Dalrymple Papers primarily consist of correspondence with individuals and organizations (financial and theatre related agencies) connected with both proposed and produced productions at City Center venues, the Brussels World’s Fair, the New York’s World Fair and with New York City Center staff. Documents that illustrate the practical business of running a theater company such as box office reports, requisitions, and guidelines, as well as a significant amount of production related material including casting information, production reports, programs, general publicity and clippings (most in scrapbook format) can be found within this collection.

Philip DeWitt Ginder (1905-1968) graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1927 and married Martha Calvert in 1933. They divorced in 1945. During World War II, Ginder was among the first ashore at Normandy on D-Day, and was in command of forces which captured the German town of Hurtgen for which he received the Distinguished Service Cross.
